Mother-In-Law's Fried Apples
This is from my mother-in-law's recipe Just like her daughter, she never writes anything down. This is good served on the dish or on top of a dip of vanilla ice cream. So after her explanation on the phone and this experiment, here goes the best interpretation:

.

4 -5 apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. corn starch
2 T. margarine
Cinnamon & Nutmeg

In a skillet, place two tablespoons of margarine and melt on medium heat. Dump in the sliced and peeled apples. Sprinkle generously with 1/2 c. sugar. Sprinkle 1/3 cup of corn starch. Cover, stirring occassionally, re-cover. When the apples are soft and the sugar and corn starch consistency has become like syrup, pour mixture on plate. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg and server.
