Good Mornings with Emily and Ross
Weekdays, 6am – 10am
Emily Larkin started working in radio in high school in Moberly, MO, following in the footsteps of her grandfather who worked at her hometown stations for over 40 years.
Emily graduated from Marquette University with a degree in broadcasting and was planning on making travel documentaries before life drew her back in radio.
She’s been with Cumulus for 10 years. She loves words and stories and will happily talk your ear off or listen while you do the same.
Ross Murdock: Radio is all I can ever remember wanting do from the time I was a kid growing up in Webster, New York (suburb of Rochester). I majored in Communications/Radio-TV at the University of Central Florida in Orlando where I graduated in 1982. I’ve lived and worked in various places including Florida, Virginia, Kansas, Ohio, Pennsylvania and now Missouri. My background includes 30 years of programming and on-air experience in formats such as Full-Service, Soft, Mainstream and Rock Adult Contemporary along with Classic Hits, Country, Oldies and News/Talk/Sports.
I met my wife and started a family while working in Kansas. We’ve been married for twenty-eight years and have two sons ages 25 and 22. The youngest will graduate in May from the University of Kansas.
My interests and/or hobbies include attending major collegiate and professional sporting events especially college football and basketball. I also love to travel, walk, jog and lift some light weights. Visiting the Pacific Northwest is high on my bucket list. Seinfeld is my all-time favorite TV show followed closely by PTI on ESPN. The Eagles would probably be my favorite group of all time but my tastes are very broad and reflect of variety of genres. I’m a big fan of Miller High Life, Fireball, pizza and ice cream, sometimes all at once. I have a quirky sense of humor which is sometimes interpreted as weird (mostly by my sons).
My goal is to retire in Florida where I won’t have to deal with cold and snowy weather. Until then I just want to do great radio and help our listeners have the best day, week, month and year possible.
