Taste of Osage County event 1 to 6 p.m. June 27 at Linn City Park
You are invited to the third annual Taste of Osage County! Enjoy Linn’s beautiful City Park Saturday, June 27, 2015, while mixing it up with farmers, vintners, bakers, makers, artisans, and more rural producers in the region. The event is sponsored by the City of Linn, the Osage County Agritourism Council and University of Missouri Extension.
This year’s Taste of Osage County will present live music under a roof in case of rain: Osage Jammers, a group of musicians from all around Osage County, will play traditional country music featuring fiddle, guitar and banjo, from 1 to 3 p.m.; then grab a partner for Randy Sullens from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., playing lead guitar and backup of your favorite rock and folk rock tunes.
Tables along park paths will provide tastes and opportunity to purchase handmade cheese, baked sweets and artisan breads, and fresh produce from farmers’ fields. You will enjoy talking to farmers and chefs who hand-process farm produce into delicacies like pickles and jams. Artisans will make their creations available and demonstrate their craft as visitors stroll through the park (see attached list).
If that’s not enough food, pick up locally sourced pork burgers, brats and chips for lunch and dinner as you admire antique tractors behind the ballpark. Summer lemonade and bottled water will be available along with beverages from local vintners and brewers.
Agritourism Council members, Linn City Council members, and University of Missouri Extension office managers will be on hand to make your visit a fine Saturday afternoon at the park. Children will find engaging activities specially designed for them. There’s plenty of parking for cars near swings and monkey bars already waiting for kids of all ages.
