5 Fun Facts About Me
I am originally from Illinois.
East Central Illinois to be precise. So, I like several sports teams that are not very popular around here, so I won’t even bother listing them. My family still lives there (parents and a younger sister) and I try to get home to visit as often as I can.
I have a “slight” Superman obsession.
Superman “died” on my birthday back in 1992, and ever since then I have collected Superman items. I actually have an entire room in my house that is nothing but Superman
I used to work at Disney World.
I did the Disney College Program my junior year. I was a tour guide at “The Great Movie Ride” at the Disney/MGM Studios (as it was known as at the time). While there I got to meet Adam Sandler, Aerosmith, Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and former President Jimmy Carter. I was down there for 6 months and loved every minute of it.
I am a proud dog dad.
You might hear me talk about him on the air. I adopted Odie from the Central Missouri Humane Society on October 14, 20214. They had rescued him from a severe neglect situation. When they got him he was 86 pounds. He was very under weight for a 5 year old Great Dane. Even with all he had been through, he was still full of love. I knew I had to make him a part of my life. I am happy to say that he is now 150 pounds of craziness.
I actually used to be on television.
I was working at a radio station in the Quad Cities (up in Iowa) and was let go due to budget cuts. The local NBC affiliate heard about this and reached out to me and asked if I wanted to be their morning feature reporter. They wanted me to go out to rodeos and county fairs and talk about stuff going on in the community. This was February of 2020. March of 2020, COVID hits and the entire world shuts down… no fun stuff to report on. They turned me into their COVID reporter. Now, mind you, I do not have a journalism degree and have no idea how to write or report on an actual news story. It really wasn’t for me, so back to radio I went. I ended up right here in Columbia, and the rest is history.
